Music probably has the biggest effect for teens 16 and older.  Teens listen to music for an average of 2 ½ hours a day. (Media Use) Some new studies being released say that music can be blamed for teen pregnancy’s. With 750,000 teenagers becoming pregnant each year, and an estimated four million contracting sexually transmitted diseases it is rather  hard not to connect the two.  In one researched report “The researchers suggest degrading music offers teens a "script" for how to behave in ambiguous situations. Repeated exposure to such scripts may, over time, cause teens to act out these stereotyped gender roles.” (DeNoon)

Rap is the most provoking  type of music. Music influences teens perception on roles of women, sex and fame. Teenage minds take in lyrics as though they were words out of a text book. They see rappers as receiving their fame from having sex, getting caught up in gangs, and singing about it.  Teens take those things and tend to dream to have that life.
